Rural Development and Tourism

The primary objective of the Rural Development and Tourism policy is to improve the socio-economic structure and raise living standards in rural areas, and to enhance the region's tourism potential. To achieve this core objective, efforts are underway to develop innovative and sustainable development models in rural areas, ensure environmental sustainability, expand the use of technology in agricultural production and increase added value, strengthen institutional structures—prioritizing cooperatives and associations—and boost their competitiveness. Additionally, work focuses on improving the production, sales, and marketing processes of local products, creating spatial development strategies for the region, developing alternative tourism products and areas, and preserving and promoting the region's cultural richness and fabric, among other initiatives contributing to the development of the region's rural areas and tourism.
