Contracts have begun to be signed for projects found successful and entitled to receive support within the scope of the Financing Support Program for Increasing Production and Youth Employment in the Manufacturing Industry, announced in 2023 by Mevlana Development Agency, which continues its work in the Konya-Karaman Region under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology General Directorate of Development Agencies.

In this direction, the contract for the “EMA Plastik Produces, Turkey Wins” project, prepared by Karaman EMA Plastik, was first signed by Mevlana Development Agency Secretary General Dr. İhsan Bostancı and the company official.

Making statements about the project after the contract signing as an Agency, Mevlana Development Agency Secretary General Dr. İhsan Bostancı said, “As an Agency, since our establishment, we have mobilized an investment of 2.7 Billion TL with co-financing by transferring 1.45 Billion TL in current figures to our region through various support mechanisms we have implemented to increase the competitiveness of our Karaman-Konya Region, which is within our area of responsibility, to reduce inter-regional development disparities, and to promote the region to domestic and foreign investors. Lastly, with the Call for Financing Support announced by our Agency for SMEs, we aimed to increase production, productivity, and youth employment in the manufacturing industry in our region. As a result of the evaluations made by our Agency within the scope of the said call for proposals, it was recently announced that a total of 17 projects were entitled to receive support, including 5 projects for increasing productivity and youth employment in the production of high and medium-high technology products, 1 project for implementing applications involving innovative technology transfer in the defense, aviation, and arms-ammunition fields, 6 projects for increasing productivity and youth employment in the production of medium-low and low technology products in Karaman province, and 5 projects for increasing productivity and youth employment in the production of medium-low and low technology products in districts other than Konya central districts. With the EMA Plastik Produces, Turkey Wins Project, whose contract we signed today, we aimed to both increase the efficiency, develop the export volume, and increase employment of our company, which manufactures plastic cutlery, cups, foam meal trays, plates, and film stretch in Karaman, by strengthening the machinery-equipment infrastructure needed in its production process. Within the scope of the project to be implemented with the support of our Agency, 4 robot automation systems, 1 plastic injection machine, 2 luxury spoon molds, 1 luxury fork mold, and 1 crystal cup mold will be purchased. Among the objectives of the project, which has a total budget of 7,397,500.00 TL and to which our Agency will transfer 3,687,716.87 TL, are extremely important goals for both our region and our country, such as increasing efficiency and domestic and international sales volume. Additionally, the fact that 4 young people will be employed within the project makes it even more valuable. With these feelings and thoughts, I wish the project to be implemented to bring benefits to our region and our country.”
