A contract was signed between Mevlana Development Agency, which continues its work in the TR-52 Konya-Karaman Region under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology General Directorate of Development Agencies, and Konya Chamber of Industry for the preparation of Energy Audits for businesses in the TR52 Region.

Within the scope of the contract, energy audits of businesses entitled to receive support under the 2024 Transformation in Manufacturing Industry Technical Support Program, which is expected to be announced shortly by Mevlana Development Agency, will be prepared by Konya Chamber of Industry.

Evaluating the contract they signed as an institution, Mevlana Development Agency Secretary General Dr. İhsan Bostancı said, “As an institution, while we aim for the all-round development of our region through various support mechanisms we implement in the Konya-Karaman Region, which is within our area of responsibility, we also try to shed light on the decisions that all our stakeholders in our region will take in areas such as investment, planning, employment, and export, with reports we prepare on various subjects or have prepared through our technical support mechanisms. With the contract we signed with our Konya Chamber of Industry, we aimed to contribute to the preparation of energy audits for manufacturing enterprises and manufacturing cooperatives in our region that are entitled to receive support within the scope of our 2024 Technical Support Program, the preparations for which have been completed by our Agency and which we aim to announce shortly. I would also like to take this opportunity to state that our Agency has previously transferred 1 Million 250 Thousand TL to 16 projects supported for energy audits. With this contract, 100 Thousand TL support will be provided for the energy audit reports to be prepared for each company that will receive support within the scope of our Agency's technical support program. As an Agency, we attach great importance to the on-site and efficient use of our region's resources and continue our efforts in this direction. Thanks to the energy audits to be prepared by our Konya Chamber of Industry with the support of our Agency, many issues such as how to make the energy used in production more efficient, how much savings can be achieved with new investments, and amortization periods will be discussed in detail by controlling the energy management systems, boilers, installations, air conditioning and ventilation systems, compressed air systems, induction furnaces, electrical distribution systems, electric motors, and pump systems of our beneficiary companies, and a comprehensive report will be produced. This study to be carried out at a time when we are struggling as a country to reduce our foreign dependency on energy is extremely important. As an Agency, stating once again that we will continue to shed light on the economic activities of our stakeholders such as production, investment, planning, employment, and export, and to support them at points where they need it with the reports we prepare, our financial support programs, consultancy services, collaborations, and field studies, I thank our Konya Chamber of Industry for their contributions and wish the work to be carried out to be beneficial for our Region.”

Konya Chamber of Industry President Mustafa Büyükeğen, stating that they continue their efforts to increase energy efficiency in industry and that the protocol signed with MEVKA in this context is very valuable, said, “With our Energy Efficiency Audit Center within our Konya Chamber of Industry, we conduct measurements in our industrial facilities and public institutions. To date, in the energy measurements conducted by KSO Energy Efficiency Audit Center in 61 firms and institutions, 5,637 TEP energy savings, amounting to 124.7 million liras, with a total amortization period of less than 1 year, have been achieved. Again, with these measurements, 26,470 tons of carbon dioxide emissions are prevented annually. With this protocol we made with our Mevlana Development Agency, we will contribute to the preparation of energy audits for manufacturing enterprises and manufacturing cooperatives in our region that are entitled to receive support in the Konya-Karaman Region. In this period when the importance of efficient energy use is increasing day by day, I hope that the protocol we have implemented will be beneficial for our region and our businesses.”
