Within the scope of the cooperation protocol signed between Mevlana Development Agency and Konya Technical University to meet our country's need for cybersecurity experts, raise awareness among university students, identify potential talents and direct them to the field of digital and cybersecurity technologies and support them, the “Turkey Cyber Homeland Program Penetration Test Training” was organized.
Speaking about the organized training, Mevlana Development Agency Secretary General Dr. İhsan Bostancı said, “Development Agencies in Turkey are development units established to ensure the on-site and effective use of resources, reduce intra-regional and inter-regional development disparities, develop cooperation between the public sector, private sector and non-governmental organizations, strengthen local governments and activate local potentials. Development Agencies, operating in 26 different regions under the umbrella of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, carry out studies, create programs, develop collaborations and provide financial and technical support to develop human resource capacity and entrepreneurship. In addition, programs and projects consisting of various modules are also designed by Development Agencies to raise awareness of our youth about digital technologies and to develop technology-oriented entrepreneurship in fields such as cybersecurity, software and artificial intelligence. One of these programs and projects is the Cyber Homeland Program, which is the brand name of the activities of creating training curricula and programs, capacity building, awareness and motivation, developed by the West Black Sea Development Agency to train qualified cybersecurity experts in the field of cybersecurity. With this program, which is carried out in 23 provinces covering 17 Development Agency regions, including our Agency, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the Presidency of Defense Industries and the Presidential Digital Transformation Office, and under the coordination of the General Directorate of Development Agencies, it is aimed to increase youth employment by training the qualified human resources needed in the field of cybersecurity. As Mevlana Development Agency, we are continuing our Turkey Cyber Homeland Program 2025 Term studies within the framework of the protocol we signed with Konya Technical University. In this context, the first of the face-to-face trainings, Cybersecurity Penetration Test Trainings, was held hosted by our Konya Technical University. During the 5-day trainings with the participation of 42 students, detailed information was given to the participants on various topics such as information gathering methods, scanning, obtaining information from services and logging into systems, Exploit development and tools, social engineering, DOS and session hijacking, wireless networks. After this 5-day training, there will be an online task process of approximately 1 month. Between February 17-21, students will be given Malware Analysis and Reverse Engineering Trainings, and the third training will be held within the scope of Web Security. In the summer period, students will be taken to a camp and receive special training here. I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, Rector of Konya Technical University, for their valuable support to this program, which we believe will make very valuable contributions to the cybersecurity of both our country and our region, and I wish the trainings to be beneficial,” he said.
